BioLeft-handed, happily married, editorial minion at a local SF publishing house; childfree, red-haired, owned by three uppity cats.
I read sf, fantasy, horror, and history; I watch the new Battlestar Galactica, loved Farscape and Babylon 5 when they were on (ditto most of the Star Treks except V'ger and Enterprise). Call me crazy, but I love MST3k, too. And gaming (rpgs, Settlers of Catan, Nuke War, Munchkin and variants).
My taste in books is so broad that I can't list all the authors I read; suffice to say that I enjoy a broad range of fantasy, sf, a smattering of horror (primarily vampire stuff); for nonfiction, I like medieval and ancient history, Celtic mythology, and more.
I'm a co-founder and sometime officer of the local sf club, the Research Triangle SF Society; I have been known to volunteer at cons, too. ;). I publish a fanzine for the Southern Fandom Press Alliance, called Get Off My Lawn!, and am a member of the Southern Fandom Confederation.
I dabble in BPAL; favorite scents at the moment are Tarot: The Star (alas, discontinued), plus Baron Samedi, and Chimera.
My musical tastes run the gamut from classical to rock to '80s New Wave, plus filk, Celtic, Celtic rock, and more.
If it's sf-related, I'll be discussing it here. That includes astronomy, conrunning, writing zines, gaming, cats, chocolate, grammar, publishing, etc. If it's not at least tangentially related to the above, you probably won't see it discussed here. Welcome, and enjoy.
